Bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of bourbon, oak, and not much else. Taste is of cheep bourbon, some oak tannins, lite caramel, and a hint of vanilla. Medium thin mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and warm alcohol. Decent.

Pours a cloudy dark ruby brown with a smallish light tan head and some lacing. Aroma is sweet dark cherries and bourbon, vanilla, caramel malt and more subtle dark fruits. Flavor is sweet and starts with a decent dark caramel maltiness, dark chocolate, bourbon and cherry. Finishes long sweet and spicy. Medium bodied. This one will probably get better with age.

12oz bottle. Ash, tar, rubber and cherry skin aroma. Some dark, thick chocolate as well. Pours a thick, near opaque with a thick off white head. Tart cherry skin, oily roasted malt, charred wood, tar. Slightly rubbery. Chewy and slightly acidic. This one’s all over the map and quite frankly misses the mark. Thanks Andy!

Solid black with a dense everlasting 1/2" head. Cherry bonbon aroma with a sour kick. Sweet and sour cherry chocolate flavor. The cherry is very retro nasal, getting intense in the sinus but the flavor is actually fairly subdued. Light in body. This is one beer that may actually benefit from being served on nitrogen.

Great aroma of dark malt and bourbon. Taste like a fruit cake with boubon cherry sauce on top. Good beer for an after dinner dessert.

’08 bottling, red label. Smells like a chocolate-covered cherry with roast malt in the background. Very smooth and elegant flavor - Chocolate, cherry, and a touch of oak; in the finish some bourbon comes through but it’s accompanied by complimentary cherry sweetness as to not overpower anything. The finish is also balanced by some acidic roast but not a lot. Overall this is a very good cherry stout - clean alcohols and no one overpowering flavor. This apparently is a new release (as of late Feb ’08), and appears to be an improvement!

Dark brown body, fast diapering beige head; Very balanced malty cherry very well put together nose, actually very, very well put together; On the other hand very, very bad put together body, thin bourbon sharpness, watery texture, slightly cherry sour; watery finish, all there is is Bourbon bite and cheap Bourbon aroma.

Pours a deep brownish color with thin light brown head that fades quickly. Taste and aroma are of bourbon, vanilla, oak, cherry, and light chocolate. It’s like eating a cordial cherry while downing a shot of bourbon. Finish is a bit on the thin side and alcohol is slightly present. Overall, not bad.
