Aromas consist of burbon, roasted malts, vanilla, and sour cherries. Flavor is right up front with burbon, tart cherry, chocolate and finishes with coffee. I thought this one was somewhat thin for an impy. Flavors are all wonderful and create bliss in your mouth. I need to get a hold of CW other brews. blankboy (3204), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours a very deep ruby-brown with an average size diminishing tan head. Nice aroma of bourbon (but not too much), chocolate, vanilla, caramel malt and just a bit of cherry. Flavour of chocolate and cherries along with some bourbon, spices and roasted malt. Earthy roasty bitter finish. Average bodied. Pretty good, I enjoyed it. Headbanger (1583), Aurora, Illinois, USA

Aroma of bourbon and cherries. Taste of bourbon, cherries, chocolate, and a little heat. This full bodied brew is very well balanced with nothing really being dominant. The bourbon is very well blended. Great tasting brew. tjthresh (1765), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

There’s some oak and stuff, but the bourbon dominates. Flavor is nice. Chocolate cherries with some nice heat. Light body with a dry finish. Not bad at all. Shared with blankboy and garthicus, my bottle courtesty of rudolf. Deep ruby-brown (not quite opaque) with a large creamy-frothy tan head. Well-balanced and not in your face - moderate roast, vanilla, oak, prunes, cherry, a hint of lemon. Taste of cherry, mild chocolate, oak, much sweeter, alcohol comes in - dry wood; odd (salty?). Light body, very lively mouthfeel, finishes fairly quickly, leaving an acidic fruitiness and tingling tongue behind. Very nice - perhaps a tad more lively and sour than an imperial stout normally is, but quite enjoyable. garthicus (1274), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 31, 2008 Bottle from early spring shared with FunkyBrewster. Pours a darker brown with a thin small frothy white head. Tart cherry aroma with some bourbon and smoked cheesy yogurt fridge oxidized hops. Strong flavor of sweet tart cherries, very woody bourbon, maybe infected yogurt, creamy chocolate, hint of coffee, dry yet tangy. The stout flavors are secondary to the bourbon and cherry flavors. Medium full bodied, creamy with softer bigger carbonation. I tried this fresh and the infected qualities were not present, it was a better beer fresher. Delicious non-the-less.
