From the bottle, courtesy of Summer Secret Santa 08, pours black with a thick off white head. Aroma is sweet but distinctive, I really have no idea how to label it. Taste is also unique, but a bit easier to pinpoint. Definitely cherries, light malt, mostly cherries. This is delicious. Smooth and pretty much a fantastic beer.

Bottle shared my MaxxDaddy, drank right after the Bells version of this, which of course made it a huge disappointment. Light cherry and bourbon in the aroma but the first thing I noticed was blackened chicken. Hmm. Lightly chocolate flavor with a touch of bourbon finish is well aged and balanced. This simply does not have enough cherry or chocolate to keep up.

Bottle. Not quite black, more a very dark ruby. Head fades quickly. Nose is cherries & bourbon, alcohol, maybe some toffee but its really buried. Flavor is bourbon, cherries, vanilla, toffee. The cherries add a twang which plays well with a woody aspect. The bourbon overwhelms the base beer’s characteristics - I have a hard time detecting much of anything from the Imperial Stout.

Courtesy of Pepsican. Thanks, Andy. The aroma is big with boozy oak notes, chocolate, vanilla and tart cherry. The body is a murky dark brown to black and holds a thin tan head. Tart fruit, oak and bourbon on the fore, followed quickly by chocolate, pineapple and vanilla.

Dark brown frothy pour with tan head and lace. Chocolate, cherries, abv and tartness on the nose. Abv chocolate and light cherries on the flavor. Full bodied with good carbonation. Very nice beer that changes alot as it warms.

Pours out black-ish, but more of a dark brown with some red when held to light. Head was a very light tan color and retained pretty well, leaving some lacing. Soft smell of cherries, roasty, some oak, a hint of vanilla. Nice smell, but not very strong. Taste starts out with some slightly tart cherries paired with some oakiness. It becomes slightly sour before bringing on more oak, and eventually some vanilla and bourbon with some roastiness in the finish. About medium carbonation with medium body, slightly dry in the finish. A good beer, no doubt, and a very well made version of a cherry stout, but I have to say I enjoy the masterpiece that is their Bourbon Barrel Stout, sans cherry, a whole lot more.

Dark reddish brown beer, with a minimal head - quite a tart aroma, with strong cherry and oak, and a mellow but present bourbon character - fairly tart and mildly acidic, with some light notes of chocolate and dough - very mild oak - subtle but spicy alcohol - much more tart than I expected, but decent.

Bottle courtesy of CaptainCougar. Aroma of cherry wood and bourbon with a brandy sweetness. Black body with tan head. Has the molasas, bourbon, sweet, cherry flavors. Normal flavors that make these souts so good. Easy on the palate witha sweet cherry taste lingers on palate. Thanks Tom.
