thanks to fantomas! Cherry, woody, with hints of vanilla in the aroma. Pours dark brown with pink edges. Cherries come out right away, tart berries, then a huge oak flavor, bourbon, old wood, vanilla beans, with a slightly tart finish and little alcohol burn (not sure how much is in there but i taste it alittle)

12 oz bottle. Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Nose of bourbon and cherry with mocha. Tangy and tart with a medium body. Taste is bourbon, coffee and cherry. Leaves an earthy crabapple and bitter chocolate finish. Too much.

7/10/07 12 oz bottle sampled thanks to drewbeerme. This is it the closer for a day of drinking. What an excellent beer to end on. Pours a thick black with a beige head. Nose is cherry, lightly sour, bourbon, chocolate, oak, vanilla. The nose is loud like the flavor. Chocolate roasted flavors are compiled with bourbon, vanilla, oak, cherry, a lightly tart sourness that seems a bit syruppy (like fake cherry syrup) as I go on. A good beer, but it was much better before it ever met those troublesome cherries. The tangy sourness of the cherries don’t balance well with the bourbon and sweet chocolate flavors. A good beer though none theless. Thanks andrew ... now if I can only sleep in a stinky tent with all of this alcohol in my system. 8/4//7/3/15 =3.7

10/5/08. Pours a dark black with a beige head that fades to a creamy ring that laces down the glass. Nose is rich of cherries, chocolate, oak, bourbon. Tart cherries in the flavor fight for dominance with chocolate, bourbon, oak. Slight alcohol warmth, but all around a tasty beer. Sometimes cherries don’t work well, but the richness in the flavors blend nicely with the butter rich bourbon. 8/4/7/4/15 = 3.8

12oz bottle. Ash, tar, rubber and cherry skin aroma. Some dark, thick chocolate as well. Pours a thick, near opaque with a thick off white head. Tart cherry skin, oily roasted malt, charred wood, tar. Slightly rubbery. Chewy and slightly acidic. This one’s all over the map and quite frankly misses the mark. Thanks Andy!

Was pretty lucky to have someone able to obtain this hard to find bottle at the brewpub. Aroma,was amazingly complex, oak cherry, coffee, chocolate, the cherry and malt hits you right away in the taste, the cherry taste itself is complex, chocolate,coffee all float in,and thenin the swallow,the soft velvet taste of bourbon,a very strange complex brew,I can see why it took a gold at the GABF, might be a touch to strange for me

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle; muddy, oaky brown appearance. Maraschino cherry, brownie, black cherry aroma; heavy, dirty bourbon presence of vanilla and toasted oak; fat and buttery. Flavor is thick, hot and syrupy; floral honey and fresh cherries seem to complement each other quite nicely and brightly, but alcohol is draining. Juicy, ashy, meaty roasts fill in the mid palate substantially, and a big tangy burst of acetone-tilting bourbon sweetness again rubs it dry. Cherry starts to seem tannic and acerbic. Full, messy palate; finishes on the huge, startling impact of cheap port. Huge, and lacking real character. Thanks Tyler!

2006 GTMW. Dark brown, copper hints. Light tan creamy head. Stemmy cherries in aroma. Cherry chocolate pie, vanilla cake. Very nice cherries in a slightly roasted malt body. Very subtle bourbon hints are yummy, along with chocolate hints. Great beer. I’m really digging the BA cherries stouts I’ve found.

12oz bottle....blackish pour with a thin tan head and reddish brown edges... bourbon forward aroma with softer vanilla tones that coincides with a backend cherry presence... flavors of sweet toffee, cherry, and bourbon that quickly sours up. not on par with bells ba cherry. a little to bitter and sour in the aftertaste.
