Bottle, courtesy Gillard. Pours a dark brown color, with a fizzy head with some lacing on the glass. Tart cherries in the nose, with a stinging alcohol punch, some soy sauce, and slight caramel. Apple cider tartness, with cherries. Malty character finishes strong, with caramel and chocolate. Bourbon hits big with each sip. Surprisingly drinkable, very tasty.

12oz bottle Sampled at Noog4. Thanks to Heemer for bring this bottle. Dark walnut brown pour with a wispy head. Boozy aroma with plenty of Bourbon Barrel and wood. There is also a touch of malt and buttery bourbon. The flavor is powerful. Initially sweet but moves quickly to bourbon and tons of wood. It is a bit overly alcoholic. Slick mouth feel and full body. Not bad, but where are the cherries?

Dark brown color, light brown head. Aroma is pleasent, cherries meet chocolate. Cool. Flavor is sweet, cherry combines with a roasty stout and it works ok. Its missing the huge depth of the original batch of the bourbon stout.

black body with beige head..the aroma of light chocolate and simple cherry is washed away by the dominant buttered popcorn diacetyl backbone...this is also characteristic of the flavor; however, the taste tends to give a bit more rise to the tart cherry notes and dark chocolate characteristics...no bourbon present

Super strong aroma of bourbon, vanilla, port, cherry. Very rich and complex flavor. I have to admit, this was a very challenging beer, and I must admit most beers don’t challenge me to this degree. Very interesting. Not necessarily my cup of tea but unique. Almost too many flavors hitting you...like...bam...bam...bam!!!

Surlysober and I split a bottle of this beer. It was much more kriek and much less bourbon-barrel stout than I expected. I thought this beer was quite good, but I felt unbalanced. It is black and stout-looking but tastes like a kriek; I felt the beer would have been improved with some additional roastiness to balance the cherry flavor. Nonetheless, I felt this beer was quite good, but good because it had a great deal of cherry sourness, not because it was a great stout. Make sense? It pours a dark color with lots of head. Aroma is very kriek-like in its smell, with some bourbon aroma once the sourness wafts past your nose. Flavor was of sour cherries up front, and was quite sour, with some roastiness and bourbon notes on the back end. Mouthfeel was smooth, but tart.

Thanks to hopdog for breaking this one open... Appears a dark chestnut color with a light tan head that fades into a mild cap and collar. Spotty streaks of lacing are left around the glass. Smell is of oaky bourbon, caramel, vanilla, melted sugar, and ripe fruit. Taste is of the mentioned aromas with tart, black cherries shining through as well. Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied, boozy, sweet, and tart.

Pours a deep brownish color with thin light brown head that fades quickly. Taste and aroma are of bourbon, vanilla, oak, cherry, and light chocolate. It’s like eating a cordial cherry while downing a shot of bourbon. Finish is a bit on the thin side and alcohol is slightly present. Overall, not bad.
