Strong bourbon and vanilla aroma with cherries in the background. Flavor is sweet cherry, vanilla, bourbon, roasty malts, oak, and just a touch of funk. Slightly boozy, and bit too sweet. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 3, 2008 Pour was dark brown yet very clear. Aroma of light cherries, malt, and alcohol. Taste was very mellow and well blended. Cherry flavor was natural, malt was balanced well and not over-powering, and the alcohol was well hidden. Good brew. Would buy again. Smell of malt, cherries, chocoalte, vanilia, sour berries, caramel and some bourbon, but very light. Taste of sour/tart cherries, chocolate, hops, malt, spices(cinamon, nutmeg, pepper), vanilia, oak, and bourbon. Very carbonated but good. Nothing like a Dark Lord but comming from a small brewery, its fine as hell! grimreeser (797), Minnesota, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 6, 2008 12oz. bottle, with thanks to both bmartin08 and nflmvp for each including one of these as a great bonus in our trades - appreciate it guys! A bit of a gusher, but pours a dark brown with a lively tan head that dissipates to a thin covering, spotty lacing. Aroma is oak, cherry, dark chocolate and only the slightest of bourbon peeking through occasionally. Flavor is more cherry forward, with some background bourbon and oak. The sweetness from the cherry actually becomes a bit distracting and doesn’t seem to gel well with the other components. Not bad, but a bit disjointed and didn’t really work for me. Thanks again for the chance to try to both Steve and Brian! Guerde (710), Welcome, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2008 (bottle thanks Tytoanderso!) Pours dark brown with a scant tan head. Upon first smell, I got a whiff of urinal cake, which smelled quite awful. Luckily, this scent fades quickly and a better, more earthy, Belgian-redesque aroma takes over. There’s also some light vanilla and chocolate as well. The flavor has some light cherry, roasted malt which is a bit astringent, with chocolate, and a little wood on the finish along with some alcohol. Medium mouthfeel. juiceisloose (677), Windermere, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 11, 2009 Courtesy Secret Santa. Pours a dark brown color with some reddish tint at the edges of the glass. A small, foamy tan head settles to a thin film and leaves a touch of lacing behind. The aroma shows notes of chocolate covered cherries, bourbon, and a touch of vanilla. The flavor follows the same way with the sweet chocolate and tart cherries blending together nicely with the bourbon and vanilla. The oaky wood gives it a nice tart feel and flavor. Medium bodied with subtle carbonation with a long chocolate covered cherry finish. This is maybe a touch thin for an imperial stout, but the flavor was good with the cherries and the bourbon wasn’t too overpowering. I enjoyed this one, nice brew.
