Pours a darker brown with a thin small frothy white head. Tart cherry aroma with some bourbon and smoked cheesy yogurt fridge oxidized hops. Strong flavor of sweet tart cherries, very woody bourbon, maybe infected yogurt, creamy chocolate, hint of coffee, dry yet tangy. The stout flavors are secondary to the bourbon and cherry flavors. Medium full bodied, creamy with softer bigger carbonation. I tried this fresh and the infected qualities were not present, it was a better beer fresher. Delicious non-the-less. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 27, 2008 This poured black in color with a thin head that dissipated away quickly. The nose gave off aromas of bourbon, char and some cherries which are primarily hidden. In the mouth this is medium to full-bodied with nice concentration and wonderful balancing carbonation. The palate shows off the cherries much more than the nose. In fact the palate comes off as chocolate covered-bourbon macerated cherries. Yum. mar (1982), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Pours out black-ish, but more of a dark brown with some red when held to light. Head was a very light tan color and retained pretty well, leaving some lacing. Soft smell of cherries, roasty, some oak, a hint of vanilla. Nice smell, but not very strong. Taste starts out with some slightly tart cherries paired with some oakiness. It becomes slightly sour before bringing on more oak, and eventually some vanilla and bourbon with some roastiness in the finish. About medium carbonation with medium body, slightly dry in the finish. A good beer, no doubt, and a very well made version of a cherry stout, but I have to say I enjoy the masterpiece that is their Bourbon Barrel Stout, sans cherry, a whole lot more.

If not from Jason thank you mystery man. Pours Black with a 1 finger tan head. pretty nice look. Killer nose, chocolate, cherry, rich malts and a hint of bourbon. The taste is really intriguing cherry is at the forefront completely, the malts and stoutness are on the back end. This is a crazy fruit stout, like NG Unplugged Cherry Stout but different. Its a good beer any way its sliced though. JohnnyOS (646), Golden, Wisconsin, USA

Everything you would want in a stout... great aroma, great flavor... etc. Only thing I didn’t much care for but would not change is the overall stickiness... decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA

Nose is pie cherries and chocolate. (how can you go wrong with that?). Taste: tons of sweet cherries, oak, wood, booze, bourbon, vanilla. Its just like the woodford reserve reverse infusion cherries i used to make. awesome.
