Everything you would want in a stout... great aroma, great flavor... etc. Only thing I didn’t much care for but would not change is the overall stickiness... decaturstevo (2007), decatur, Tennessee, USA

Nose is pie cherries and chocolate. (how can you go wrong with that?). Taste: tons of sweet cherries, oak, wood, booze, bourbon, vanilla. Its just like the woodford reserve reverse infusion cherries i used to make. awesome. badbeer (433), Iowa, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Pours out black-ish, but more of a dark brown with some red when held to light. Head was a very light tan color and retained pretty well, leaving some lacing. Soft smell of cherries, roasty, some oak, a hint of vanilla. Nice smell, but not very strong. Taste starts out with some slightly tart cherries paired with some oakiness. It becomes slightly sour before bringing on more oak, and eventually some vanilla and bourbon with some roastiness in the finish. About medium carbonation with medium body, slightly dry in the finish. A good beer, no doubt, and a very well made version of a cherry stout, but I have to say I enjoy the masterpiece that is their Bourbon Barrel Stout, sans cherry, a whole lot more.

If not from Jason thank you mystery man. Pours Black with a 1 finger tan head. pretty nice look. Killer nose, chocolate, cherry, rich malts and a hint of bourbon. The taste is really intriguing cherry is at the forefront completely, the malts and stoutness are on the back end. This is a crazy fruit stout, like NG Unplugged Cherry Stout but different. Its a good beer any way its sliced though. islay (478), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 27, 2008 Small sample from 12 oz. bottle consumed at tennisjoel’s tasting on 1-26-08. This was the sixth of ten beers that we tried. I picked this up in Madison, WI in early September 2007. Strong, sweet aroma features caramel, coffee, vanilla, and tobacco scents. Pours a dark brown with a dark amber hue and a small amount of tan head. Roasted malt flavors combine with a sharp cherry tartness. Vanilla and oak flavors from the charred barrel. I don’t get much whiskey taste; the bourbon effects come from the wood rather than the spirit. Reminiscent of vanilla ice cream with cherry sauce or vanilla cherry soda, except with a classic, strong stout presence. Very interesting and good in both aroma and flavor. Roasted, astringent aftertaste. Surprisingly light in the body for the style. Frothy in the palate. Central Waters Brewers Reserve Bourbon Barrel Cherry Stout is a unique and delicious brew. It was my second favorite beer of the evening, behind only the legendary Dark Lord (2007). IlanMan (846), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 3, 2008 Pour was dark brown yet very clear. Aroma of light cherries, malt, and alcohol. Taste was very mellow and well blended. Cherry flavor was natural, malt was balanced well and not over-powering, and the alcohol was well hidden. Good brew. Would buy again. gunhaver (1043), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a dark brown color, with a fizzy head with some lacing on the glass. Tart cherries in the nose, with a stinging alcohol punch, some soy sauce, and slight caramel. Apple cider tartness, with cherries. Malty character finishes strong, with caramel and chocolate. Bourbon hits big with each sip. Surprisingly drinkable, very tasty.
