| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 3, 2008 Pour was dark brown yet very clear. Aroma of light cherries, malt, and alcohol. Taste was very mellow and well blended. Cherry flavor was natural, malt was balanced well and not over-powering, and the alcohol was well hidden. Good brew. Would buy again. gunhaver (1025), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a dark brown color, with a fizzy head with some lacing on the glass. Tart cherries in the nose, with a stinging alcohol punch, some soy sauce, and slight caramel. Apple cider tartness, with cherries. Malty character finishes strong, with caramel and chocolate. Bourbon hits big with each sip. Surprisingly drinkable, very tasty. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 3, 2007 Dark brown color with a dissipating light cocoa tan head. The very first sniff brought banana bread thoughts, with ripe bananas and nuts. Vanilla and oak come out as it sets along with hints of sweet cherries. Seems a touch thin in feel, as I was hoping for a more mouth-coating feel. Vanilla hits the tip of the tongue and goes on to tart black cherries, light pastry dough and apples. I do find myself looking for some roasted or rich malts, but perhaps they weren’t meant for this one. Seems to be in the style of some belgian stouts or even some of the old ales I have had. Nice brew however you dissect it. This is one that the longer I set with it the more I like it. I think if I cracked another bottle my rating would go up a point or three. gws57 (1137), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Had this one bottled in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Thanks Slothgar! Very dark, brownish red pour with a thick, light brown head. Strong alcoholic nose of almond and sweet bread. Very strong, cherry and whiskey, malty. Alcoholic finish. Good, but a bit too strong for me. egajdzis (3625), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of bourbon, roasted malts, vanilla, black cherry, chocolate, and nuts. Taste of tart cherry, vanilla, bourbon, light roasted malts, and some chocolate as well. No alcohol detected here. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 8, 2007 Dark brown color, light brown head. Aroma is pleasent, cherries meet chocolate. Cool. Flavor is sweet, cherry combines with a roasty stout and it works ok. Its missing the huge depth of the original batch of the bourbon stout. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 8, 2009 Updated: Jan 18, 2009Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy and garthicus, my bottle courtesty of rudolf. Deep ruby-brown (not quite opaque) with a large creamy-frothy tan head. Well-balanced and not in your face - moderate roast, vanilla, oak, prunes, cherry, a hint of lemon. Taste of cherry, mild chocolate, oak, much sweeter, alcohol comes in - dry wood; odd (salty?). Light body, very lively mouthfeel, finishes fairly quickly, leaving an acidic fruitiness and tingling tongue behind. Very nice - perhaps a tad more lively and sour than an imperial stout normally is, but quite enjoyable.
