On draught at the brewpub in Marshfield, Wisconsin and served on nitro at the brewery’s taproom in Amhert, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper penny amber brew with a creamy off-white head that the nitro pours renders excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, a touch of toffee, fruity character and some flowery hops. Taste is medium bodied, smooth and creamy via nitro pour with flavors of sweet malt, some toffee, apricots and caramel. Finish is smooth and creamy with a rich caramel malt aftertaste is quite enjoyable.

Bottle courtesy of Brigadier: Pours a transparent bright copper orange with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of lightly sweet and toasted caramel malt with a hint of light fruits and tartness. Starts lightly sweet and caramely with some mild tartness toward a thinner finish. Might be in the mild stages of infection, but is still a decent red ale.

Bottle thanks to Brigadier! Poured a deep coppery orange with a dusting and a thicker ring of deeper beige head. Aroma was of toasted toffee and caramel with perhaps some off notes of sour fruit skins.. all in all smelled quite nice. Flavor was a touch more enjoyable.. toasted biscuits, caramel, and toffee at the core with mild hebal bitterness, very faint sour fruit skins, and vanilla surrounding. Just shy of medium-bodied with a nice flow to it.. tacky sweetness hangs it up in a couple places. This is a fine session brew.

I picked up a sixer of this for around $7.50 at the local store. That’s not a bad price for a decently made session beer. While this does not stand out like an imperial stout, barleywine or other high gravity beer it is still excellently made. I’m glad to have a few more bottles to drink over the next few weeks.

Aroma / Appearance - The caramel colored body had little to no head. It looked very attrative for an Irish ale. The scent of black cherries, vanilla and malts mingled to form a simple but pleasing nose. Everything is cohesive enough to indicate that whoever brewed this knew what they were aiming for.

Flavor / Palate - A syrupy mouthfeel is a little thick but not cloying. Rye toast, slightly burned campfire marshmellows and raspberries slip quickly over the tongue and down the throat. The taste of sponge cake follows shortly thereafter before the entire thing fades in several minutes. This is not exceptionally complex but for a session beer it is perfectly balanced.

Dark red color with no head. Malty aroma with a definite maple hint. Very smooth taste of sweet malts. Kind of biscut-like, if that makes sense. Almost buttery finish.

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with hezron, thanks Nathan!) Slightly hazy and dark ruddy-amber in color, this beer shows a considerable amount of carbonation bubbles rusing very swiftly through the beer, like there was some urgent convention to attend. What’s the hurry? The off-white head pours tall and fluffy, settling to a quarter-inch layer and holding there, leaving some lacing in its wake. The nose is malty and mildly sweet, similar to a brewery after malting, and with pretty much no hops getting in the way of the malt party. Mmm, this is really tasty. Only lightly sweet, but with a very toasty and lightly bready maltiness, and only a slight bitterness in the finish. I’ll say it again, mmm, really tasty. Medium bodied, nicely carbonated, pleasant and easy mouthfeel. Nothing less than a delicious, flavorful, well-crafted beer.

clear copper color, creamy/foamy off-white head. aroma is sweet malt, HONEY! a little caramel, maybe a little bit apple. flavor is sweet malty and bready like a brioche. pretty high carbonation. some nuttiness and a little bit of sour grassy hop in the finish. thanks secret santa 1FastSti!
