omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 19, 2007 Bottled. Pale golden, small head. Evident papery nose. Sweetish, thin and bland. Cardboard dominates. No bitterness. Extremely tasteless, except for cardboard. TBone (5116), Pori, Finland Dec 30, 2006 Bottled (BB 04/2007)
Golden color, small steady white head. Mostly skunky and papery aroma. Watery pale lager with cardboard and grainy malty flavors. Watery aftertaste. Not very cool, more like useless. oh6gdx (6334), Vaasa, Finland Dec 30, 2006 Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is green apples as welll as some hops, maybe maize too. Flavour is hayish hoppy with some sweetish hints. bmxutos (161), Lisboa, Portugal Oct 8, 2006 Let me firts make an introduction: this is not the same beer as Super Bock Cool Beer, that existed some 3 years ago. This new product is a weak copy of that beer, launched only for the 2006 Summer. Super Bock Cool Beer was an Ice Beer that demanded special refrigeration and therefore had big distributions costs. So Unicer dropped that particular beer. This year, Sagres, the main rival of Unicer, launched a beer called Sagres Chopp that is intended to please the large brazilian comunity that lives in Portugal. The reply of Unicer was this Super Bock Cool. But this is not an Ice Beer. In fact, it’s a very weak pale lager.
With an easy to remove cap, Cool is very pale (straw colour) and has a small white head, mostly diminishing. Not much lively this one!! It has also a strange aroma: very few hops but a strange presence of apple reminding a cider. Flavour has nothing: weak and watery. Nevertheless, this beer can be very refreshing although more bitterness could help.
A very bad product and another desillusion from Unicer.
