Thick oily-looking black pour, large fluffy lasting tan head, nice drapes of thin lace. Light aroma, but deep roasted malt, very lactic and sweet. Genuine sweet charcoal, burnt malt, slightly curranty aroma. Milky coffee, chocolate, a chew of dark fruits. The most rounded and serious Iberian interpretation of a dark beer I’ve tasted. If it was a roasty smooth chocolatey English mild I’d give it at least 3.5, so that’s exactly what it’s getting. That’s pretty unusual. It tastes pretty sweet and isn’t all that bocky. It’s only 5%abv. Sticky with lots of malt - it’s more like a dunkel or porter. Very enjoyable. Didn’t detect much hops. Enjoyed while wandering around Macau’s Fortress de Guia.
