johndoughty (1681), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Oct 14, 2007 Surprising that a country that produces mainly boring pils can come up with this one. More like a stout than a dunkel it was slightly dry with some roast flavour that really lingers. Very drinkable and highly recommended. Yogi_Beera (2404), Hamburg, Germany Jun 29, 2003 I really loved this beer - it was the one we drunk every day in that week when we came home from the beach, showered and rested on the patio watching the seagulls flying over the ocean. Nice malt and chocolate nose. Black/opaque color, little hazelnut brown head. Wonderful intense long lasting, thick cocolate and malt taste. Round and well balanced. To bad it's sister the Super Bock Blondie is more known - it deserves better! RichardGretton (2683), Leicestershire, England Mar 25, 2005 Bottled. Great looking pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is dark chocolate and coffee, the flavour is again loaded with chocolate and coffee. Overall a nice smooth stout. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA Apr 11, 2008 Bottle. Bought in Macau. I notice that sugar is one of the ingredients. That’s pretty unusual. It tastes pretty sweet and isn’t all that bocky. It’s only 5%abv. Sticky with lots of malt - it’s more like a dunkel or porter. Very enjoyable. Didn’t detect much hops. Enjoyed while wandering around Macau’s Fortress de Guia. Dark ruby, almost opaque color. Small coffee head. Aroma is toffee-sweet with some chocolate. Medium-bodied, chocolaty sweet, slightly roasted. Mouthfeel good be fuller. So far, the best Portuguese beer I’ve had.
