Commercial Description:
Costa Ricans have been enjoying this beer since 1924. Imperial is created from a balanced formula combining malts, grains and hops, without a pronounced overtone in its taste. It is what is known as a “centralized” beer. Adapted to a warm and spring-like climate, Imperial is Florida’s most popular and widely accepted beer, both nationally and internationally, and has thus become the favorite beer of Costa Rica.

12oz bottle. Poured a medium and clear yellow color with a small sized white head. Aromas of corn wtih some graininess. Tastes of the same. Thin and watery body.

Pours pale yellow into a shaker. Bright white head recedes to scum surface. Corn aromas. Flat and nonexistent. Lasting water finish. It’s hard to believe they snuck 4+% into this beer. However, it doesn’t taste bad.

Bottle thanks to daknole. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head that goes down to next to nothing. The aroma is sweet malts and some honey. The taste is your typical pale lager; lots of adjuncts, corn and some sweet malts. Oddly a bit of alcohol in the taste. Still, my first from Costa Rica!

Bottle. Surprisingly ok. Pretty clearly a mass produced lager, but some interesting honey sweetness and a bit of malt offset an otherwise fairly watery and predictable affair.
