Commercial Description:
Costa Ricans have been enjoying this beer since 1924. Imperial is created from a balanced formula combining malts, grains and hops, without a pronounced overtone in its taste. It is what is known as a “centralized” beer. Adapted to a warm and spring-like climate, Imperial is Florida’s most popular and widely accepted beer, both nationally and internationally, and has thus become the favorite beer of Costa Rica.

Drinkable, free, and served by a hot chick. Tasted a bit sweet, but wasn’t too bad. Drinkable lager, but not something to look for. I think I prefer the miller lite i had before this one. WAHOO!

12 oz of some of the worst beer I have ever been subjected to purchased at Spirits Red Bank. Poured almost clear with just a trace of gold and a big bright white bubbly head but I just can’t get past the lack of color on the body of this one. The aroma has some classic honey sweet grains and sweet cream corn notes going on. The body is over carbonated and fizzy yet somehow foams up in your mouth so you get the best of both worlds, both worlds of suck that is. The initial flavor is seltzer which is quickly washed out by some bad malt notes. Oh my God is this shit wretched. I would of poured this down the drain but I felt my drain pipes don’t deserce this type of punishment so outside and off my property was this one properly disposed of.

Sampled in Costa Rica! Clear gold with a moderate white head with a little retention. Flavors are light with some sweetness consisting of wheat, grains and light fruit. Very mild bitterness. Not a lot there but no skunk or foul flavors either. Very clean and actually rather refreshing. I’m sure getting it fresh from near the source makes a difference.

Bottle. Pale golden pour with a short-lived bubbly white head. Grainy, malty aroma with faint hints of honey and citrus. Flavour is almost the same as the aroma except the honey and citrus are more noticeable. Light body with some mild bitterness on the finish, which is fairly short. Overall a pretty ordinary lager which, though easy to drink, isn’t worth seeking out.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours clear yellow with a very small white head. The aroma is almost nothing - a hint of grass and hay. The flavor is quite light as well - some malt and a touch of citrus. This is quite light, smooth, and drinkable.

12 oz bottle, freshness date of Feb 28, 2010.
Pale golden with a fleeting white head, no lace left behind. Lively carbonation.
Aroma is mildly grainy, but not much else. Possibly a sign of things to come.
Flavor is as expected, grainy malt, lightly sweet. finish is short. average

Pale golden with a short lived head. This is the bud of costa rica. Not good beer at all. Just skanky.

Wife spoted this one sitting out of place like someone left their dog behind and it needed a good home. Moderate skunky aroma. Yellow bubbly body with good white head. Had some citrus flavor in the background and just enough to make this one bareable. Bittering aget lasted though beer and did get little wet grain sluggish near the finish. First beer I’ve had from Costa Rica.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle. Appearance: Clear yellow with a large, foamy, white head. Poor head retention and virtually no lacing. Aroma: Grainy with a bit of skunk. Smells like a bad forecast to me. Flavor: Surprise! A crappy pale lager! Grainy, skunk, corn, and a odd back bitterness. Palate: Medium-high carbonation with a light mouthfeel and a medium-short, slightly bitter finish. Overall: Bad, but not the worst I’ve ever had. I guess when it’s all you’ve got, it’s all you’ve got!
