| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Aug 8, 2009 350 ml can. Doesn’t deserve to be in a higher percentile than its non-light version. This one is not nearly as omnipresent as the regular Imperial, but in just about any grocery or liquor store in Costa Rica and quite a few restaurants/bars. Very light all around; faint hops in the flavor, some carbonation. What you’d expect for a light Costa Rican beer. Certainly nothing nasty about it but few positives, either. tjthresh (1780), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 2, 2009 Can from theisti. Served into a tankard style mug. Pour bright golden straw yellow with a pure white head plenty of rising carbonation. The is is lightly herbal, slightly skunked, and a bit pilsnery. The flavor is bright pretty clean and like kmweaver said, grape-y. Its not all that bad. Thanks Tim. Ticky-tick. kmweaver (2489), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jun 30, 2009 350mL bottle, purchased in San Jose. Pours a clear, bright yellow color; effervescent; fluffy white head with decent retention, patchy lacing. Light, slightly corny and vaguely tart, white grape juice aroma; more pleasant and tempered than expected. Light-to-medium mouthfeel: crisp, fruity, and with continued grape juice notes following the nose; not generous, or special, or good, but better and more drinkable than a lot of the stuff down here; definitely on the grape-y, fruity edge of the pale lager spectrum. Medium finish of light grains and slight sweetness; toasty. Zinister (1207), Houston, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 27, 2009 Not a bad beer, but not as good as it’s non-light brother. Typical pale lager color and aroma, although I felt there was more flavor that it’s North American cousins. theisti (1689), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Feb 1, 2009 350 ml can, enjoyed a few different times during my trip to Costa Rica. Pour is clear pale golden, water almost visible. Aroma of really not much at all, perhaps a touch of the malt, a kiss of the adjunct. Taste is actually pretty clean, though tasteless. This was much like any ordinary American Light beer, but perhaps a bit cleaner taste. Palate is crisp, watery, refreshing and inoffensive. Worked at the beach and pool. SHIG (2044), Aviano, Italy
