Aweseom one, I would have thought this was nasty but it was ´retty good, a shame the bottle is colourless.

Dark Brown in color, think Newcastle though slightly darker brown. A decent head emerges when poured. Has a slight nutty aroma. It has a thin body and a flat watery mouth feel. Notes of hazelnut and semi sweet syrup comes abound. Easily drinkable like a dark lager should be with a quick vanishing finish. Better than my expectations.

355 ml bottle purchased at Comercial Mexicana Interlomas, Mexico for $10.60 mex. pesos $1.00US ea. Good.

Pours a muddy brown chocolate brown colour with a thin off white head. Aroma is plain, a little cocoa perhaps. Light chocolatey malts and watery almond in the taste.

11-Mar-08 (12-oz bottle, Best Before 14-Aug-08: BevMo in La Jolla, CA) Nice malty nose, reminiscent of a dunkel, but with a little sweet caramel, some toasted malt, and a hint of corn. The flavor is somewhat different though, with very toasty malts at the forefront and a bit of light roastiness thrown in for good measure. Only lightly bitter from the roast, but hops doesn’t seem to come into play here. Very little sweetness or caramel flavor, but some corn is apparent, especially in the finish. The beer is light-medium in body, but has a heavy mouthfeel in the finish from the corn. Dark-amber to light-brown in color and perfectly clear. Light-tan head pours to almost half an inch before settling to a thin layer with three minutes, leaving some stringy lacing. Quite honestly, I expected this beer to be a pale lager with food coloring, but it’s far removed from that type of swill. No, it’s not a beer I’d buy or enjoy regularly, but for a dark Mexican lager, it ain’t half bad.

Botella. Pours a clear dark brown colour with a short lasting brwnish head. Sweet roastish caramel and maltish aroma. Fair mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with mildly roasted caramel and malt along with a mild bitterness. Thin sweet brew.

Dark wood roasted malty aroma. Caramel, fruity notes. Not too bitter. Little watery. Mid but lively carbonated.

Good taste, but, mmm, there is something missing between sucha strong aroma and bitterness, I miss the link between nose and tongue. Overall, a good example of dark beer, go ahead Mexicali.
