| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 16, 2008 Modest dark bone colored head atop a clear brown liquid glints burnt orange when held to the light. Caramel, sorghum, corn husks, mild dirt and trace of old dried herb hops. General malty sweetness, with a touch of toasted malt on top. Actually quite clean, compared to the scent. A bit watery and fizzy in feel. Finish has a touch of nuttiness. Linger is lightly bitter with a touch of what seems to be black malt acidity. A palatable light, dark beer. In a way reminds me of the old Blatz Dark, America’s great true light, dark beer. gerardoluna (195), Mexico

Enjoy it using Boats black and listening a"John mellencamp" album. Ernest (4487), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium to dark brown.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, toasted grain, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Surprisingly drinkable...relatively clean considering the source, with noticeable hops in the aroma. Simple and kinda grainy, sure, but a cut above the standard Mexi-swill without question. I dare say I could probably drink an entire bottle. presario (2983), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 27, 2008 Clear bottle in World of Beer pack. Lasting foam on dark copper. Although dark I can still watch the TV through the glass. Light malt and cookie comes through. Almost a mix between a dark lager and a Mexican clear lager. Some nice chocolate biscuit and light toffee flavours. ratman197 (3214), Arvada, Colorado, USA
