On tap at C’est What?. Pours a just hazy orange amber with a thin white head. Rootbeer and cream soda. Medium bodied, light caramel, slightly spicy almost rye notes. Finishes with a light bitterness and a little tart grain.

Hazy gold with white head and lots of lacing. Diacetyl is intense. Smells like shortcake. Soft, almost no carbonation. Strong artificial popcorn butter flavors. Shamefully wrong: so much butter can use it to fry eggs.

340ml bottle: Semi-cloudy orange under an off-white head. The aroma is butterscotch and sweet malt with shades of spice. Taste consists of caramel, fruit, butter and chestnut with a herbal touch. Medium body. No hemp detected but interesting nonetheless.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a light golden color with a medium white head. Strong butterscotch aroma. This is sweet and buttery like an ESB. Has a quick finish. Leaves good lacing. Hemp flavor? I can’t detect any.

Draught at C’est What. Pours a clear bubbly gold with a small semi-lasting creamy white head. Mild aroma of caramal malt and fruit . Flavour: Hmmm, that’s different -- Caramel malt, fruit, herbs and spices, light hops and light bitter finish. Average bodied. It’s different and enjoyable enough.

Single bottle bought from the basket in the LCBO: Appearance: Dark-golden colour with a small grey head. Aroma: Caramel and dark fruit some malt and honey too. Flavour: Like porridge and cream, some earth tones and spice, some sweetness too. A medium candy-ish finish. Not bad at all!

On draught- Poured a medium amber/gold with an average one finger of white foam. In the nose, candied malts and fruits with a bit of earthy nuttiness. Tastes like sweet dried dark fruit and also quite earthy with a shard hop bite leading to the finish. Not too bad really.

Tap at C’est What? Very pale straw coloured brew. Aroma is quite subtle with a light estery fruitiness, a hint of toasted nuttiness and a light candyish sweetness. Possibly a little bit of cocoa in the nose as well. The flavour is also unusual in that it has a touch of cocoa and caramel in such a pale brew. Quite fruity with a nutty character that I can only assume is the hemp. With my eyes closed I would imagine I’m drinking a brown ale... it’s quite nice really.
