GABF 2009. Pours black with a small, frothy dark brown head, somewhat diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (molasses, caramel, toasted grain), average hop (herbs, grass), average yeast (leather, earth) with notes of prune, plum, wine, wood, and charcoal. Full bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and an astringent finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

Bomber from yobdoog at PPRBSG-. Pours a deep dark oily viscous black with almost a violet highlight as it pours and a thin lasting deep tan head. Aroma is bourbon, sharp toasted malts, roasty and good fresh chocolate malt- big on the fruitiness as well, aloing with a red wine like tannic hint- oak and vanilla come out a bit more as it warms as does the burny bourbon. Flavor is a bit bigger in the vanilla, and oak- also more wine and fruit- big nutty roasty coffee like burnt malts as well- slight licorice spicy kick and tarry and tannic in the end with a bourbon alcohol kick. Big BA imperial stout with lots of tannins all the way through- nice though.

Dark brown pour with off white/tan head and lace. Chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt aroma. Medium sweet chocolate with what I thought was BB but it appears not to be the case. A medium full bodied beer. Very nice.

@Pilsner Petes East Coast Gathering-750ml bottle–pours a brown head that goes to a ring and black color. Aroma is dark malt-anise/chocolate, roasty. Taste is dark malt-anise/wood/ashy. Not my taste. Thanks yobdoog for sharing.

Deep brown beer with a light brown head. Wow… aroma is incredible. Rich sweet milk chocolate, soft fruity and a bit of sweet cocoa as well. Rich, silken palate with a very intense cocoa/chocolate sweetness. A kiss of herbal licorice comes through on the back of the palate. Rich and intense and totally awesome. Damn, this stuff is delicious!

Consumed via bottle at PilsnerPeter’s spring gathering. Pours a very dark brown almost to the point that it is black. Heavy caramel, coffee, chocolate, the wine adds a wierd flavor, almost astringent, but truethfully not bad.
