Commercial Description:
Every time I try one of these Imperial Pilsners I immediately ask myself..."in what way is this a Pilsner?" Ussually there is nothing pils about these beers. This strong lager, however, is exactly what it says it is. Light golden, fluffy white head. Lots of rich german pilsner malts. Tons of incredibly floral noble hops. And fermented cold for a crisp lager finish.

Bomber thanks to Yobdoog for sharing and Erway for hooking up our gathering. Pours a pure clear straw golden with a nice sticky white head. Aroma is very fresh herbal and spicy noble hops- lightly flowery- which mixes nicely with the big rich bready fresh pils malt, but does not get honey like or overly sweet- reminds you of a great pils but just a bit more intense. Flavor is also very pils like just amped up a bit- incredibly fresh pils malts, doughy bready with lots of flowery hops- light spice, and a creamy clean and moderately bitter finish. This is a great big pils.

Bottle at PilsnerPeter’s Spring Gathering. Pale golden beer with a thin white head. Aroma is great. Big, punchy, zesty fragrance. Lots of bright grassy, citrus character. Light lemon balm over a crackery malt base. It doesn’t really taste all that big, but as a regular pils, it’s rock-solid.

Bottle at PilsnerPeter’s Spring Gathering. Pours a clear golden yellow with a thin white head. Big citrus hops, and a bunch of grain. Hot and grainy. Not so great.

Bottle at PPRBSG09. Pours a clear yellow with a thick white head. Aroma of tropical fruits and wheaty pilsener malt. Flavor of sweet malt, light fruits, and sharp spices and alcohol in the finish. Pretty enjoyable. 7/4/7/3/14 (3.5/5)

22 oz. bottle. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Mild aroma of floral hops and just a bit of fresh bread. The flavor is stronger than the aroma with a solid dose of fresh bread and an equally solid dose of floral hops towards the finish. A bit of citrus emerges at the finish as well. Crisp and refreshing. Enjoyable.

Bottle courtesy of erway. Thanks for sending this and giving us a chance to try. Light clear yellow golden color with a magical glow to it. Just crystal clear. Aroma of light pine, citrus, sweetness, bready pilsner character and a touch of dry earthyness. Taste is crisp and clean and quite refreshing given the medium body. Smooth and sweet with a nice floral and citrus hop balance. Alcohol is well masked and this was a pleasure to drink. Its become harder for me to find a pilsner that I enjoy drinking because of that green bottle taste and this changed my perspective quite a bit!
