| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Aug 4, 2004 Dark amber colour. Smells very bad; rotten apricot. Tastes a LITTLE better. Drainpour. JorisPPattyn (5193), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Aug 1, 2004 Dirty-hazy brown with greenish shine; dirty brown slim head. Absolutely disgusting, off-putting nose like rotting vegetables in an equally rotting cardboard box. Faughhh! Thank God it doesn’t taste rotten as well. In fact, it’s like sugarwater flavoured with a slight sourish tinge that is vaguely reminding of citric acid. Nondescript fruity flavour, end is like very poor faro. Light bodied, slight slick texture. I would love (well...) to say that this might well be a bad bottle. Seen "Chapeau"’s reputation, I doubt it. diabel (1372), Aarschot, Belgium
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jun 21, 2004 Amber, golden colour. White head, instantly diminishing. Sweet apricot aroma and dito flavour. Typical De Troch beer. Nuffield (2749), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 15, 2004 I would love to have access to market/consumer reports for this company. Like, what percentage of customers are repeat customers? And, what is the profile of their typical drinker? Amber/golden with a lasting ring of carbonation; far fewer floaties than other Chapeau beers. Woody, cork aroma, some lambic qualities, with a sweet fruitiness, not overwhelmingly apricot (a cheap port has some similarities). Sticky, sweet palate, with tons of sweetness the whole way through. None too graceful; flavors of lipstick, apricot, peach and wood. Not really very enjoyable--just too sweet, and that’s from someone who loves sweet drinks (port, etc.) Not sour in any remarkable degree. jfm (1695), Holbæk, Denmark

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 19, 2004 Taste like dried apricots more than fresh ones. most would call it a little on the sour side, i would call it more tart than sour. not bad but i am sure there are much better lambic out there. it was a little dry on the finish, i would have like there to be a hint of spice, but thats just me.
