I like the concept even if the execution isn’t great: way too flat, and the lambic-ness is not obvious, but it manages a decent balance of sweetness and tartness. Kinda lame, but I didn’t find it as terrible as some of these tough guys. HenrikSoegaard (4440), Randers, Denmark
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 17, 2007 Bottle. Frothy white fair mostly deminishing head. Pale yellow colour. OK week banana aroma. Heavy sweet light acetic flavor with week banana notes. Average finish. Watery palate. Much better than thr strawberry lambic. shrubber85 (3014), Wallhalben, Germany
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 13, 2007 Bottle. Very sweet overripe banana aroma with hint of sourness. Clear golden yellow with moderate head and effervescense. Super sweet banana mixed with sour musty flavor of a more traditional lambic. So cloying it almost beats maple syrup. Might make good snowcones or Hawaiian shave ice. Magtek32 (76), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Jul 13, 2007 25cl bottle. Didn’t enjoy this one. Artificial/ mediciney taste. One sip was tolerable but after that I found it undrinkable. Way too sweet, I was hoping for a more subtle banana flavour. A novelty beer that I will not buy again. | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jul 9, 2007 25cl bottle - pours pale golden, small white head. Smells like banana’s - sweet bananas...at first it wasn’t offensive, but gradually got more so. Lambic sourness underneath all that sugary banana. Flavour was much worse - very unpleasantly sour and sweet. Very bad combination with a yeasty but funky aftertaste that won’t go away. This is pretty awful stuff. Hard to drink. I didn’t. Dump. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jul 6, 2007 Updated: Jul 7, 200725 cl bottle - pours clear pale golden with almost no head to speak of. Aroma has the familiar lambic sour note, but with a lot of banana as well, which is just strange - sour bananas? Weird. Not too appealing. Overly carbonated. Sweet, sweet in the mouth, with the main note being the yeast, but there is quite a bit of banana again, and a dry artificially sweet finish. Again, not too pleasant. Just an odd combination, lambic and banana - the flavours pull at each other and the result is one confused and not very appealing beer. About 20 cl too much. fishingnet (1047), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 1, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear yellow with no head and light carbonation. Aroma of bananas and light acidity. Taste is sweet bananas. Thin mouthfeel. More like a banana soda then a Lambic but still pretty good. boojummy (50), Medford, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Jun 26, 2007 From a 12oz bottle. Pours a super clear pale yellow, very effervescent, with no head. Wow, what an aroma! It has that characteristic sour/armpit twang, but wait-- with bananas! Flavor is apple-sweet, followed by a big banana flavor, and then only a barely detectable sourness. Palate is light as with other lambics. The banana flavor is highly refined and pleasant, but the brew’s flavor overall lacks depth. A little disappointing since the aroma lead me to believe that it would be a bit more sour. More sourness would probably add to this beer-- and ageing might help. Pretty much like drinking soda.
