Chapeau Cuvée

capped and corked bottle. hazy orange, thick small wihte head. aroma of wood, stingy sourness, mild citrus, dryness. flavor is very dry, soruish, citrussy, hay, the citrussy sourness is in centre, and other flavors play a secondary role. refreshing, quite easy drinking. ends more or less as it tastes only milder. uncomplicated for the style.

[9/8/08] Bottle at my hostel in Brussels. Hazy golden color. Acidic aroma with vinegar, funky barnyard and fruits. Sourish flavor with citrus, wood, light sweaty hints and a dry mouth-puckering finish. Medium-bodied. Surprisingly good.

Bottle at Chris-o’s Pre GBBF tasting and 2009 ... light amber ...barnyard nose ... light sour ... little woody .

Bottle. Murky orange with thin white head. Smells tart and sour and flavour is similar with dusty farmers mac notes. Pleasant and easy to drink and tingly tasty.

Bottle at Plan B. It pours a hazy golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is dusty with notes of sweet citrus, grass a little apple. Flavour is dry lime with a faint tartness, a little dusty and with a sweet hint. I’m surprised that Chapeau manage to make a decent brew.

Bottle at the legend of chriso’s pre GBBF09 tasting. Alround rating: Grainy pale and wheaty malt, its sour in a red wine thats been sitting for a few days kind of way. Not sure what i think of this but i had 2 glasses at different times to try and figure it out and im still unsure.

Bottle @ ’t Brugs Beertje, Brugge. Pours a hazy orange color with a small white head. Has a fruity slightly tart hay aroma with some hints of citrus. Fruity slightly tasrt flavor with some hints of citrus. Has a fruity tart sour finish.

Chriso Shindig Aug 2009. Very dry with interesting funky notes. Quite puckering. Not fun.
