Light golden with a white head. Aroma moderate malty (exotic fruits like pineapple). Flavor moderate sweet, light bitter/acidic. Light body, watery. A fine aperitif, but not a beer. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 25, 2006 Pours hazy and thick, dull orange with a thin fine head. Sweet, earthy aroma with pineapple and wet wood. Very sweet and cloying. Earthy, tart and perfumey pineapple flavor. Finishes so sweet that it hurts my throat. You know, the flavors are pretty nice if only you could dry this MOFO out. GRM (1277), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 5, 2006 Bottled. Pineapple cake yeast aroma. Crisp and sweet. Sticky vanilla cloying flavor. But damn! I really like this. Scrolling through the reviews, I realize that you either hate it or are just meh. I, personally thought that it was awesome. Granted, it was my first pineapple beer, and it was late at night, but this really tickled me. Call me crazy, but the grainy, yeasty zesty flavor was totally complimented by the vanilla, HFCS, pineapple sweetness. reakt (937), Greater London, England

Artifical fruit nose - taste to match. Heavy pineapple with peach and banana in the mix. Artifical, sweet and slightly sickly. Crisp, light body. Nice one for your mum. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | May 24, 2006 12 oz bottle, Blue Max (Dec 2005), no date but judging from the corrosion on the cork and the condition of the label I’d say it’s a fairly old bottle -- label is different than that in the picture here. Cellar temperature, Lindemans flute. Kind of a pretty pour, thick and syrupy-oily looking pineapple juice color with a huge diminishing snowy head....tremendously, disgustingly sugary-sweet pineapple juice nose, just like you’d get from a can of Dole, perhaps a touch of peach in there and some corn syrup, pretty hard to take.....flavor is more of the same, all sugary juice character without a trace of real lambic character, no malt background to speak of and no hops of course, just juice juice juice....at the finish there is a very light grassy bitterness that shows up and also unsurprisingly a bit of metallic character (from the can of pineapple juice used to flavor this?).....sticky, syrupy-thick palate doesn’t dry out at all and really sticks to the tongue....as others have mentioned, if thought of purely as fruit juice this isn’t horrible though it probably should be drunk ice-cold.....as beer, though -- for once, adhering pretty close to style for this rating, because it deserves it. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 17, 2006 Bottle. Pours hazy light amber with almost no head. Aroma of sugar, pineapples, citrus. The flavor is sweet, sugar, pinneapples, and spices. This Lambic was ok, probably my favorite Chapeau beer to date. Slacks (486), Bolton, Ontario, Canada

Make no mistake, at a whopping 1.5% this is pineapple soda. Pours with little head and boatloads of carbonation. I fear my blood sugar would have been more stable if I’d licked an actual pineapple. The flavour is just overbearingly sweet. PUT IT BACK.
