Best before March 2007. Huge pineapple nose. Funky yeast if you breath deeper. Very sweet but at the same time very sour. Yeasty pineapple flavour. Pleasant for it’s uniqueness. | 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Sep 23, 2005 Nice dark gold color with a thin and diminishing white bubbly head. Aroma is a strange mix of pineapple and rotten cheese. After some hesitation, I had a sip and it was not that bad, although it totally lacks complexity. Finish is very short for a lambic. Not fond of that one... shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The smell really lets you know this is an experiment in brewing that really should’ve been aborted. Shockingly sour at first, follows up candy-sweet, the tiny hint of beer-like elements reminds you you’re not drinking cheap Japanese supermarket pop, but this revelation essentially worsens the ordeal. More than anything, this tastes like those crappy white wrapped candies that grandmothers always seem to have in a dish, the ones that are physically painful to chew. A fun diversion, but I’d rather have an actual "beer." RAYBOY01 (1851), Chicago, Illinois, USA

This stuff is sticky sickly sweet, pineapple syrup and then candy sugar, because pineapple alone is NOT SWEET ENOUGH! Needs something...carbonation or something to help it cut the cloying mouth coating syrupy gooey mess. asheft (1437), Marburg, Germany

Who would have thought that the worst beer that I have ever had (to date) would be from belgium and not be a pissy yellow lager. This beer poured a hazy pumkin colour with barely any foam that quickly disappeared. It smells like a combination of cheap butterscotch candy (the kind that comes in the orange wrapper) and dumdum pineapple lollipops. The flavour is pretty much pineapple fading to a not unpleasant malt flavour, though cloyingly sweet and slightly vinegary. Really not dry enough or carbonated enough either. Real garbage. radiomgb (2031), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Aug 30, 2005 Bottle. Orange-amber in colour, dissipating fizzy white head. The aroma is insanely sweet, lots of fresh pineapple, some kiwi and a blend of way too many tropical fruits. The flavour is all pineapple, very sweet, very cloying. Fizzy mouthfeel, light body, medium/light carbonation. Finishes slightly sour. I love pineapples but this is way too much. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Aug 17, 2005 Strong pineapple aroma is very sweet and somewhat buttery. Very hazy tan-orange-gold body with fizzy, white, fully-diminishing head. Overly sweet and fruity flavour - tropical fruits candy - with some cake-like yeast that leaves a cloying sweetness on the tongue. Light and watery body with fizzy carbonation that attacks the tongue but does not linger. No lambic character apparent at all. Might be ok with ice cream though. Just a thought because it’s not so good to drink. Stem glass, just above fridge temp. Bottle (Bieropholie, Jun-05). jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Aug 14, 2005 12.7oz bottle, best by May ’97. I was really afraid to try this beer, but was pleasantly surprised. Ugly looking beer with a clear yellow color and no head.
Sweet aroma of pineapple, caramel and coconut, reminds me of one of those tropical fruit Life Savers. Sweet flavor of caramel, pineapple, coconut and vanilla. Almost like a pina colada. Given the age of this bottle, it has held up very well. A little more carbonation would have helped to cut the sweetness.
