Thanks to Goldtwins for sharing this one at Noogfest. Bottle, "best before 1997" I can’t say that this one has gone out of date. Starts with a thin pour, no head. Sweet fruity aroma. The flavor is similar, exhibiting a fruity, sweet cider sweetness. Thin body but refreshing.

thanks to joeec5 for sharing at the jimmack invitational. sweet fruity aroma coming off a pale gold colored body. extremely sweet, but the lite body and a touch of tartness at the end made it very easy to drink and the sweetness wasnt cloying or sticky. i need more samples of this style.

A clear golden beer with a dry fruit aroma. A flavor of grape wine with a slightly weak palate. This baby was very dry and slightly tart.

This lambic Faro pours an orange gold color from a 330ml bottle. Note this bottle had a best before 1997 on it so this sample may be a little old. Small sized white head. Aroma is apples and peaches, Very sweet. A medium bodied beer. Malts are fruity and sweet. Lots of apple flavors, not a lot of carbonation. A little funky and a touch tart, but mostly sweet. Lots of grape, apple and peach flavors. Still very pleasant tasting, especially for a beer that was nearly 10 years past its prime and stored in questionable conditions. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

Sampled at the JimMack ’06 Invitational. Thanks JoeeC5 for bringing this back from Europe! peachy amber color, quick peachy off-white head. sugary sweet aroma and a little tart. flavor is sweet like cane sugar, and tart like unfiltered apple juice. tartish finish.

Bottle thanks to Joeec5 for sharing. Clear golden color with a small white head. Sweet candi sugar aroma with some green apple tartness and wet hay. Mildly sweet flavor that is off set by a cider-like tartness. I thought this would be cloyingly sweet, but it was not and I rather enjoyed it.

Best by ’97: Man I love that. How scary is it that it sat in a store for that long. Poured a clear deep gold with a thin minimal head. The aroma was lightly sweet but also tart. Horesy funk but not over the top. Sweet flavor from front to back. Mild tartness on the finish ut otherwise bland. No real funk on the flavor. I would like to try an authentic one on draft. I don’t know if they are supposed to have funk on the flavor or if the sugar is supposed to cover it up but if there was then this would have gotten a fairly decent score.

Sampled at the Noogfest-II, thanks to Larry I think. Very light orange pour with suspended particles. The aroma carries sour apples & cherries, funkiness (like a Flanders ale) some sweetness and an apple cider like leaning. The flavor was simple with sweet and yeasty apple cider. Thin body. My wife liked this style of lambic and said she would try others if I could find them.
