Sweet, fruity taste. The raspberry taste is somewhat odd, maybe artificial and there is some vinegar in the finish. Not my kind of framboise. Papsoe (14996), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 23, 2005 (Bottle 25 cl) Dark red with almost no head at all. Very, very sweet with a vague underlying sweetness from the Lambic. Artificial and sticky - and very raspberrish. But not a great Framboise. 230300 bu11zeye (5470), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 20, 2005 (Bottle) Pours a cloudy brownish-red body with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma of raspberry jam. Syrupy mouthfeel with a mild raspberry. Thick body for a lambic. JorisPPattyn (5171), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 30, 2005 Dirty gray-pink head, very persistent for fruit-lambic; very deep burgundy red colour. Raspberry jam nose, little kernels of the raspberries. Nothing else. Strange. It’s not even sweet, let alone overly sweet. Serious dose of lactic acid, some acetic, and -heh, heh - citric acid. Raspberry flavours, as in jam, but neither artificial, neither syrupy sweet. However, all my co-tasters declare it cloying sweet!! Is this a (lucky) misser or am I going bonkers? I could actually like this. Some acidburn; not thin but fruit-body. Well. Sorry guys, they did it right this time... well, IMO anyway DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 26, 2005 Bottled at Mannekin Pis, Montpelllier. Unbelievably, boldly sweet and fruity beer. Can’t taste the beer. Heavy, sugary raspberry flavour - like Co-op raspberryade. This is no problem for me - I like Framboises, but we are talking beer here (where is the beer?). A flawed, but guilty pleasure nonetheless. Hopistotle420 (1178), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Jun 1, 2005 Pours a deep dark ruby red, with a pale pink fluffy head. Nose is all sweet raspberry. Cloyingly sweet, all artificial raspberry blah. Drinkable, but way too sweet for my tastes. If you like Lindemans flavored lambics, then perhaps these Chapeau will float your boat. Sweet and sour, but not in any good way. I want real lambic you bastards. jerc (3911), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 29, 2005 Bottle. Headless ruby body. Sweet syrupy reaspberry aroung with vagues tought of a tartish lambic underpinnings. Flavour is odd, something I can’t place. Sweet strange raspberry with mildly tart chemically undercurrent. Average palate. Underwhelming. Not unpleasant but confounding at times. Shared with Tupalev at Smokeless. tupalev (2617), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 27, 2005 This is my second Chapeau beer and I have to say while I can’t find much beer in them, I do get what I am advertised. In the Banana, I got banana (and not that artificial too). Same thing here. Very strong raspberry aroma. Dark red thin pour, no head. Very very sweet taste. Real raspberry but is it beer? I’m not so sure. Interesting bottle shared with jerc at Smokeless.
