| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 23, 2005 Red body, mostly clear with plenty of effervesence, light pink head, great lacing. Aroma is fruity - raspberries - fresh and sweet. Taste is thin bodied, very well carbonated, sweet / tart fruit for 8/10ths and then a slightly oaky dryness in the finish. This was surprisingly good, but still, it tasted almost like they added sugar to balance the acidity of the raspberries. Tastes great with chocolate covered strawberries. stouby (1955), Holbaek, Denmark

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 30, 2004 No head, deep red colour, the taste is very much dominated by rasberry, a bit sour and very obvious. Good when chilled and drunk in the Summer. Not really a beer, but passable Summer drink. Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2004 Pours a murky dark orange to light brown with a wispy quickly dissipating thin white head. Fresh sweet and sour aroma of freshly picked raspberries. Raspberry aroma carries over to the flavor with just the right amount of puckering sourness to keep it interesting. Excellent outhfeel - coats your mouth wioth sourness. Does not get cloying like some lambics tend to get. Would make a good after dinner treat. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Color is a dark, hazy raspberryish red, with a small, if extant at all, head. Aroma speaks a different story: vast, sharp and tart, and all raspberry. Got to give it to De Troch, they can nail a flavor! It’s all there and it’s all reaspberry! Full-on flavor, too, very sweet, though many will discredit a sweet beer, or an un-sour lambic, for that matter. I think it’s fine, though not near the best.
Encompasses as interesting region of brew, for which we take a vacation from the consideration of other beers. Hops, malt, body, texture, etcetera, don’t play as important a part as they might elsewhere, and we suspend our judgement. It’s a light, dessert beer, and tastes of fruit, doing that job quite well. And it’s good for that, too!
