Chapeau Gueuze

oro poca schiuma note di legno acetiche in bocca lieve acidità poi diventa dolce....

25 cl. bottle. Aroma of mixed light stone fruit and prune. Dark amber color with a light tan head. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Slightly sour, but mostly sweet, and there is a touch of cooked plum. Ok, but not titillating the mouth.

330ml bottle purchased at a shop and consumed on the station platform waiting for a train. Has a weird spoiled fruit nose of old peaches and apricots, with some tart apple cider and fruit syrup sweetness... apples, pears, honey, etc... mild tartness overall, faro-like mostly, with some resemblance to soda pop as well (sprite-like carbonation). Boring sweetened juice stuff, basically, not surprising.

Pours hazy amber with nearly no head. What is there, fizzes away almost instantly. Aroma is apple, vanilla, oak and lightly fruity tartness. Rather fizzy with big bubbles. Flavour is rather sweet, lots of apples, good oakiness and semi-dry finish. Okay, but more like a cider/faro than a gueuze.

Clear amber with tiny head. Sweet and aour aroma with woody notes. Flavor likewise with light farmhouse notes.
