Aug 8, 2005 Bottle - corked and capped. Deep ruby colored body with a foamy effervescent pink head. Nose is woody and sour with huge black cherry notes, some hints of cherry cough syrup and light candyish notes. Maybe some over-sweetened preserves. Taste is sour cherries, cherry cough syrup, sugary fruits, and faint wood notes. A little too much on the sweet side but still drinkable and not as horrible as others make it out. But this, to me, is not a "true" kriek. Body has mild tartness and has some dry spots but lacks the extreme acidic notes and dryness that others would exhibit. Mild carbonation feel to it. The finish is a bit weaker than expected. Thinner cherry notes, more cherry cough syrup and it sort of falls apart at times. Still not horrible but uneven.

Jul 31, 2005 Bottle. Honestly, the only reason I drank this was because it had been in my fridge for like 3 months and was starting to annoy me. Hazy red color with a head consisting of minimal bubbles. Smells very medicinal, like a combination of cherry cough drops, formaldehyde, and...cherry cough syrup. Flat cherry taste with little to indicate that it is beer other than some malts behind the medecine - not that I was expecting much at 3% ABV. Not completely offensive but I’m surprised it’s not rated lower.

Jul 7, 2005 I like fruit lambics, but prefer a little more real fruit flavor. This more closely resembles candy in it’s aroma and taste. A light red with some brown coloring. A very thin white head on top. The aroma is cherry Life Savers. There is also a hint of perfume and some leather. The taste is cherry candy with some light notes of leather. Not much here, as this is very simple. If you love cherry candy, and low carbonation, this might be for you.

Jul 4, 2005 strong cherry aroma. cloudy reddish/brown color. tastes like a soothing cough medicine, with a slight bubbliness. the cherreis, strangely enough, saved my opinion of this brew, and probably bumped its rating up slightly. this is not a style i typically enjoy.

Jun 29, 2005 Hazy deep red color, with no head, ery sweet nose of black cherries, with spicy nutmeg, chocolatey note and hint of marzipan cake, cinnamon, but still dominated by an artificial cherry aroma, follows through on a medium-bodied and very sweet cherry palate, the cherry sweetness is very omnipresent, any aspect of tartness, acidity from lambic. Finishes with a blast of sweet cherries, very easy to drink, more of the commercial side of it.
