Chapeau Lemon

25 cl bottle, Mulmur, ON, Canada. Very little head, pours a carbonated pale iced tea colour. Citrus and a stale basement aroma with some musty cider quality, very sour first sip, with a sting of herbed citrus. Challenging beer, definitely needs some food to pair with it to balance.

Unclear amber of color with a white head. An aroma of lemon, dry and sour. A flavor of weak sweets, lemon and sour.

250 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear but sediment-filled yellow gold with no head. Tart lemon and super sweet malt aromas - interesting but not sure I love it. Flavour has some of the tart lemon to start but turns overpoweringly sweet. Not one I’d have again.

(Bottle, BB 10/09/09) Pours a clear yellow body with a spare white head. Aroma of lemon, candi sugar, and light herbal notes. Flavor of tart lemon and sugar. A prefer the lemon over some of the other sugary Chapeau fruit lambics.

Bottled(330ml). -Honey golden coloured, minimal head, strong lemony nose. Lots of sediment particles are floating all over the glass. Interesting and refreshing strong acidic lemony taste. Is this suppose to be soda drink flavored with lemon or beer??? Never mind, I rather like (sour) lemon.

Poured a hazy pale golden body. Perfumey light lemony nose, slightly funky. Acidic lemony taste, surprisingly not fake, like lemon juice... I actually kinda liked it and would definitely have it again.

This thing sucked. Puckered up lemonade. Big pieces of sediment floating in the beer. Really unappealing. I don’t wish this on anyone.

Bottle at CBF. Golden body with no head. Aroma is artificial lemon, like the cleaning agent Ajax lemon. Flavour is sour citrus with a long acidic aftertaste.
