I am certain, that there was something wrong with my bottle eventhough Chapeau is the worst "lambic" brewery i the world, it is usually not that bad. It was mouldy and ít would be torture to drink this. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark
| 0.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Aug 18, 2003 Absolutely disgusting. It smells and tastes extremely mouldy. I almost vomited. argo0 (7025), Washington DC, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 7, 2003 Large off-white head atop a bubbly clear golden body. Aroma is soft peach, mildly sweet. Taste is sweet peach, weak cheesiness, slight sourness and acidity in the swallow. Yes the elements of a lambic are present, but just barely -- it's hardly more than a fruit beer. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 20, 2003 Bottle. Less sweet than average fruit Chapeau. Quite delicate. Aroma is more lambic than peach, but there is a touch of peach along with the cheese, acid and dirty socks. Sweet up front - a delicate peach fruit sweetness. Gentle acidity comes along, and the whole is rounded off in a cidery manner. Very pleasant and refreshing - but quite sober compared to the normal fun, sweet, summer explosions of other Chapeau. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 31, 2003 The underlying lambic here is neither sour enough, nor with the body one might want. This sample has started to go south; lots of floating hop bits and yeast. The aroma carries the day here, still retaining some semblance of leather and barnyard, peach rather subtle. But the taste is candied, indeed; too much sugary peach, very little sourness or bitterness. Not very good overall. The first of de Troch's offerings I've had. hoppygrrrl (104), Albion, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 31, 2003 Chapeau's peche has a pungent, earthy, yeasty aroma emanating from a beautiful coppery amber body, absolutely filled with flecks of yeast. This lambic has a wonderful feel - it smoothly coats your tongue and palate. But the peach flavor I was expecting was overwhelmed by too much alcohol, and it finished with surprising bitterness, like an overripe, sour peachskin. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 29, 2003 Hazy orange-amber w/ minimal white head. Fresh peach & apple on the nose w/ notes of leather. Syrupy feel. Very sweet candied peach flavour w/ a mild tartness & mildly dry finish. Becomes cloying quickly.
