| 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Pours light purplish color with lavender head. Aroma of sweet berries, grape soda, some sourness and funkiness. Cloyingly sweet, grape soda flavor, but not a good grape soda. Way too sweet. Not sour or tart in any way. Is this a wine cooler? Even if it is it’s not a very good one. This one is going down the toilet. 17thfloor (1479), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Quote from the tasting "Uh!! it’s in my nose and its horrible" Pours a thin dull clear purple light white frothy head. Holy hell this burns the nostrils, like Louisiana hot sauce, cat piss, cedar, spices, pepper, ouch! Flavor is sugary sweet, christmas spices, lightly sour and tart, cedar, hard candy sweetness. Syrupy body, somewhat watery feeling though, no carbonation, hard candy feel. If this is in the 6% I hate to know what’s below it... islay (476), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 29, 2009 12.7 oz. bottle, labelled as "Chapeau Winter Gueuze." The smell is very fruity and sweet. Raisin, red grape, red grape juice, grape jello, grape sucking candy, grape popsicle, and raspberry fruit roll-up scents. Strong, interesting, but excessively sweet aroma. Pours a hazy light brown with a moderate amount of soft beige head. Lightly effervescent. Chunks of suspended particulate. Cloyingly sweet taste at first. Some sourness in the finish reminiscent of tonic water. The finish is also metallic. Bad, cheap, overly fruity wine flavor. A mix of red grape juice and vinegar. Tastes heavily processed and artificial. Tartness like crabapple. Improves on multiple sips, but still not very good. Medium body. Biting in the back of the tongue. Chemical-like aftertaste. Easy to drink, but not exactly pleasing to drink. Davinci (296), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Well it pours ok... darker than average gueze with a fairly nice white head. Very sweet, maybe juniper, pipe tobacco... um yeah, this is not a gueze. Well it kinda tastes like grape dip stic candy. Yeah, not good at all. Sweet mess!

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Aug 31, 2009 Odd sour maltiness in the aroma, hints of caramel. Pours amber, almost brown with a thin head that dissipates. Sweet malts up front, good tartness right behind, malty and caramelly, reminds me alittle of sweet tea and sour candies. Not much that resembles a gueuze? holdenn (1441), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Pours a clear brown orange with an off white head. Ugh, hot sauce, vinegar, rosemary, sugar, chemicals earthy nast. The flavor isn’t as bad as that, but it isn’t good. Sugar water with light citrus acid. Rustyham (560), miami, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Smell of old meat and vinegar, flavor is not as strong. Like lychee, sour, makes me a little uncomfortable. Bottle from Sunset Corners, Miami. drewbeerme (2274), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Jul 23, 2009 bottle. pours auburn with off white head. a chemical aroma with a very odd resin character and throw some mold on top of that too. a sugary very watery beer. like candy water. gross. this beer is proof that the term lambic or gueuze needs more legal protection.
