375 ml bottle from Beastiefan2k, shared at the csbosox tasting on 3/7/08. Eugene gave me this beer and said that it tasted like vomit. Spoiler alert - I didn’t. Aroma of burning celery salt, vomit, and raspberries. OK, maybe it smells like vomit. Do I really want to taste this? Taste is really big sweet raspberries with the vegetable saltiness right behind. Raspberry syrupy sweetness dominates a very long finish. Glad this was the last one of the night because I am still tasting it the next day. This is a tough one to describe, really needs to be tasted. Well, needs may be a bit strong. Thanks Eugene?

Bottle 37,5 cl @ home (bought Geers) Amber color with a creamy off-white head. Aroma fruits, malt, sweet. Medium body. Taste sweet, fruit, and sourness. Not bad, but i’ll expected more.

Poured a clear medium amber color with a small off-white head. The aroma was odd to say the least. Apple cider vinegar, wood and old spice (not the cheap cologne). It actually smelled like apple cider cole slaw with raisin salad. The flavor was sweeter than I expected. Sweet apple notes.

330ml bottle @ One Pint Pub, Helsinki, Belgian Week 2008. Contains aroma & sugar, but tastes like a strawberry milkshake. Quite clear, red-amber, small white head. Aroma of strawberry. Taste a bit sour, with earthy notes.

Rating is a composite of these 2: Bottle (ZBF2008)
(5-4-6-2-11=2.8)
Amber brown, small tight head. Sweet fruity aroma. Sweet mellow taste, caramel dominates. Fruity raisins make it more interesting but a bit too sugary.

Huge raspberry aroma. In fact, it’s hotdogs, apple and raspberry. Fresh and tasty. A bit too sweet, but no worse than many other fruit lambics.

Sampled at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, Minnesota as Chapeau Winter Gueuze and shared by joebrew. Pours a clear brownish caramel brew with a fizzy off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and ring. Aroma of light cherry Vicks Nyquil with some barnyard yeast funk and some citrus zest. Taste is semi-sweet cherry, a touch of cinnamon, vanilla, and front yard lawn. Finish has a good balance of sweet and tart character with a light cherry aftertaste and a mild yeast flavor.

Bottle 37,5 cl. The front says "winter-gueuze, the back calls this x-mas gueuze) Pours a clear orange with a small white head and a fruity aroma, sweet with hints of citrus and more exotic fruits. The flavor is pretty sweet to start with, apple, cherry, lemon and liquid sugar, but there are some notes that I can’t really nail down. After the mild sweet comes a mild sour, evolving into a mildly sweet finish. Not a good beer, just a one-dimensional and too sweet lambic, but not as bad as some might say.

Wow - this was some messed up stuff. Huge thanks to Beastiefan for sharing and allowing me to try such a horrid beer. Pours a light copperish amber with a fizzy soda head. Aroma is completely messed up-= unlike anything I have ever had. Starts with wierd harsh peppery phenols and spice- cardamona nd cinamon- cherry juice concentrate, juniper berries, tons of earth and dirt with rusted nails, and even some lemon lime soda- and then some red cabbage- seriously this was intense with a crapload of aromatics that didnt go well together. Wierd cherry pit astringency in the flavor- cherry syrup, earth and dirt, vanilla bean, and tons of rotting mulch, and rum spiked hot apple cider. Pretty much no real tartness or sour in this which is expected from chapeau.
