Pours hazzlenut brown with a lacing off-white head. Berry fruity aroma with notes of malt and slight note of liqourice. Flavour is sweet malty, caramel with a classic geueze towards faro like note. Finish is sweet with a solid malt base lingering. Nice yet simple. malrubius (1004), Valley Stream, New York, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Dec 20, 2007 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Light brown/amber with tan head and lace. Very mild funk aroma with sugar and cherry and spice. Sweet fruity flavor with unpleasant cloying spiced finish. Medium body and carb. Seems to miss all the characteristics of a gueuze that I am aware of, though I’m not a gueuze expert. oh6gdx (9088), Vasa, Finland

Sweet aroma of raspberry-blueberry marmalade. Sugary-caramely-malty flavor with faint oaky hints. Sticky-sweet, thin palate with low carbonation. Aroma was quite ok, but otherwise it’s just sugary crap. SHIG (2043), Aviano, Italy

The aroma is wheat, sugar, with a touch of cardboard. The taste was sweet spice and some copper pennies, still drinkable. One of the better than average beers in the chapeau line. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 15, 2007 Bottled - had as Winter Gueuze at 5.5% ABV. Unclear dark amber beer with a rim of beige head. The aroma is very spicy, as well as very light notes of bret, and some spices. Very weird flavor - very sweet, very spicy, cinnamon, leading a dry spicy finish. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 15, 2007 Bottle. Pours a decent red/orange with an aroma of store-bought beets and cedar. Decent head of off-white. Tangy, sweet/sour earthy strawberry with beets and sugar in a big, boiling pot of stew. Decent mouthfeel. Eh, not as bad as the ratings indicate.
