Commercial Description:
While respectfully following the guidelines of this traditional British ale, we added a truly American twist. Using 100% U.S. grown hops throughout the brew, a complex variety of imported and domestic malts, and a truly unique British yeast, the result is a well balanced India Pale Ale. One that exemplifies the classic style, yet brings with it the flavors and aromas of our American hop innovations without forgetting the barley.

Bottle. Well, the pour is quite attractive on this. It’s a medium copper hue, just slightly hazy, with a really firm white head on top that hangs around for quite some time. The aroma is very doughy with small hints of grapefruit and quite a bit of caramel. The mouthfeel is moderately sticky and I picked up notes of more dough, some fresh barley, and a bit of caramel sweetness. The hops are muddled in the flavor, but do manage to add a pleasing acidity. There’s no real problems here like a chalky flavor or lack of balance. It’s all right.

Bottle. Pours honey orange with small white head. The aroma is floral hops, hint of pine, and alcohol. The flavor is sugary sweet with hop bitterness, but not much hop flavor. Earthy finish.

Hmm, well, someone gave this to me in a trade, I think as an extra, but I can’t remember who. Sorry! This sat in my fridge for months... a style I don’t particularly like, and one that I still always seem to have too much of. This pours a moderately cloudy orange with a very small head. Aroma is very astringent and caramel, milk chocolate. Very much like an amber, but what good should be shown in hops in an IPA is instead just a burning astringency that do the fine plants no justice. Flavor caries a bit of grapefruit with it, thank god, but it is truly unpleasantly bitter going down, over-carbonated, and even watery, feeling most like a sprucy seltzer than beer.

Bottle. Hazy amber pour, looks unfiltered. Big head with big bubbles. Sweet but hoppy aroma. Hoppy, floral, grassy flavor. i can’t get over beers with floral flavors :( Biting palate, not smooth due to the floral.

(12oz bottle) Lightly hazed amber body topped by creamy, medium off-white head. Aroma and taste are medium sweet, pine/floral, cookie/caramel. Light-medium body, light acidity.

An orange beer with an orange head. The aroma is rather hoppy and grassy, from a somewhat weird hop. The flavor is like newly mowed grass, the hop note covers the palate like a film - nice for a hop head, towards the end notes of grapefruit appears and lasts for a long time.

Bottle drank at the Brickskeller during RBSG 06 DC Weekend Gold color, light head and lacing. Nose of fragrant hops, citrusy and grassy. The flavor is a bit metallic and more flavor and bittering in nature. The finish is thin, kinda falls apart.
