Commercial Description:
Half Moon Hefe Weizen is an unfiltered beer, naturally cloudy from wheat proteins. The grain in Half Moon Hefe Weizen is half wheat and half barley. Leaving the beer unfiltered retains its character from brewer's yeast & gives vitality to this invigorating ale. Smooth Hallertau hops provide a fantastic balance of subtle hop taste and aroma, giving you the perfect revitalizer to rejuvenate your day or night.

Bottle. Sour wheat, banana and clove aroma - very nice. Slightly hazy (far from cloudy) medium yellow color with small head. Slight sweet banana and wheat malt flavor without being cloying. Although this beer is closer to a Kristallweizen, I still have to give it high marks - it has an authentic flavor and is very well blended - far better than most other american wheat beers.

Bottle courtesy of durhambeer. Pours a hazy amber with a lasting white head. Smells of citrus, coriander, bananas, yogurt. Tastes of sweet citrus, wheat, coriander, clove, banana. Nice.

Cloudy yellow, big white head, nose of banana, yeast, citrus, pleasant flavors quite reminiscent of a well made german hefe. Enjoyable

Pours a below average head, a pale-golden yellow. Slightly hazy. Great sweet nose, def. banana. This is wheaty but with that same sweetness. A little short of being ’crisp’ but still very drinkable. A decent offering.

Pours a bright hazy peach with a one finger offwhite head. The nose is sweet, some orange rind, a bit one dimensional in what it has, some yeast character. The flavor is sweet, orange rind, crisp, less yeast in the flavor, mild wheat, not super traditional tasting. Not bad just not standout, east to drink on.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a large linen white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass. Pleasant aroma of wheat and lemon. No banana detected. The flavor is very similar with wheat and lemon and no banana. A bit on the sweet side and a bit thin.

Bottle. Thick layer of sediment at bottom of bottle! Pours headless. Pale auburn slightly light orange color. After swirling bottle, can get some thick milky wheat out. Really one of the most river-bottomy hefes I have encountered, if I haven’t driven that point home yet. Nothing groundbreaking flavor-wise, but obvious breadiness permeates. Slight floral nose. Goes down silky. A notch above average otherwise.
