unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Aug 9, 2009 tap. Dark brown color, light tan head. Flavor of chocolate malts. Aroma of molasses. Finishes with a distant roast. Lacking flavors compared to some of the other Charlie and Jakes Brews kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 31, 2008 On tap at brewhouse in Melbourne, FL. Pours a hazy dark brown reddish color with a thin off-white head. Aroma was faint but mostly malty and nutty. Flavor was sweet malt and other grains with some wet dog or barnyard type flavors. Generally light to medium body with a strange finish. Something was off with this beer, not sure what. joekinty (263), rockledge, Florida, USA Jun 2, 2008 sweet malty very slight carbonation a little chocolate a littl more aroma in this one pretty good mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 8, 2008 [904-20071204] Tap @ Charlie & Jake’s (Melbourne, FL). Creamy sweet yeast and malt aroma. Hazy, dark brown red body with a quick creamy light tan head. Flavour holds sweet hints of candied chocolate, rich and nutty as promised. Medium body has some oomph. Nicely balanced roast/chocolate/Irish ale yeast, no surprise this won a silver medal (plus it has a funny bum label). kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Nov 25, 2007 Name: Brown Bottom Ale

hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jun 3, 2007 Draft... Clear, dark mahogany ale with no head. Chocolaty nose. Well-balanced, chocolaty flavor with strong notes of spent, dark roasted grains and chocolate malt. Moderate hop bitterness with a rumor of tart acidity. Medium-bodied and creamy with middling carbonation. Finishes chocolaty, lightly bitter and dry. Retorp (2154), Tampa, Florida, USA Feb 16, 2007 Sweet malt aroma with some odd perfumey alcohol and a desperate plea toward nuttiness. The body is dark crimson brown with a diminishing tan head. Has an almost Belgian dubbel sort of alcohol and candy sugar flavor with a subdued peanut skin flavor in the finish. This is fooked 9 ways to Sunday in some regards. I’d almost love to try it with about half the water added to it and see if this couldn’t be some kind of tasty Quad-hybrid. As it is now it pretty much sucks. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Mar 23, 2006 on tap-pours a light tan head. Color is brown with a red tint. Aroma is malt. Taste is medium&dark malt, nutty. OK carbonation.
