Light but flavorful caramel malt, subtle and tasty. Nicely hopped: subtle and light as well, but flavorful with pepper and pine. Somewhat British feeling malts. Not eminently distinctive, but very nice, great balance, very drinkable. Somehow less stamped as a Rogue product. argo0 (6891), Washington DC, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 23, 2009 Bottle: Pours a transparent bright copper orange with a clingy-lacing froth of white head. Aroma of fresh piny grassy hops with some toasty caramel malty notes. Starts with pretty good fullness and light caramel malty sweetness well-balanced with a clean fresh grapefruity hop flavor and bitterness. Finishes crisp and bittersweet, very true to style and drinkable. MJGG (414), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Arômes de houblon épicé et citronné et de sucre d’orge. Robe orangée pâle et limpide, effervescence moyenne. En bouche, le malt caramel bien structuré est équilibré par un léger houblon épicé, bien frais. Finale moyennement amère. Hazy, green tinged, clean motor oil color with small but lasting off white head. Aroma is grainy, like multi grain bread, and beautifully earthy and hoppy, hazelnut, light cocoa, leather, tangerine. Medium bodied with light sweetness, doughy yeast, and a soft and refreshing character. Brisk bitterness sets in late on the palate and cleans it all up in a snap of citrus and herby astringency. Really tasty and extremely quaffable stuff. Not a typical Rogue brew, to me, and in fact reminds me of Smuttynose IPA. It doesn’t have that typical Rogue character, it’s obviously unfiltered, and it’s quite a bit better than mediocre. I’d love it even more in abundance and for less than seven bucks a bomber. Slightly murky dark amber ale, with a small, delicate yet handsome light tan head.
Aroma is of very fresh citrusy hops, manilly i get for some reason, broiled pink grapefruit with demerara sugar scents!
Taste? very smooth, yet very hoppy.Great use of the malts to enhance the juicyness of the hop.Quite peppery near the end.
Delicious and thick palate, coats the tongue and roof of the mouth..in a good way.
Very drinkable stuff.
I see I rated this much higher than others on here..i suppose sitting at the window overlooking the Pacific waves does that! kp (8399), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
