Pours a clear orange-copper color with a couple fingers of off-white head that leaves a heavy layer atop the glass. The aroma is grapefruit, caramel malt and some alcohol. The flavor is grapefruit hoppiness upfront and quickly develops into a strong malt flavor and finishes sweet and slightly dry. Its medium bodied and softly carbonated. This beer needs more hops in the nose and a more consistent hop flavor especially since its fresh hopped. I’m more looking for hop bombs from Fresh Hop ales and this just wasn’t that. This beer should certainly be considered an American Pale.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 26, 2009 22 oz bottle. Pours a deep orange/amber with a smaller bubbly off white head that left some spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet citrusy hop notes, mostly getting orange, some light caramel malt notes, light grassy notes are still present although starting to fade away (this beer has probably been in the bottle for at least 3-4 months at this point. The flavor is fresh and hoppy. Getting mostly pine, grapefruit, lemon and grass out of the hop flavors. Bitterness is exactly where I like in for an IPA (aggresive yet not over the top). The malts to help to balance this beer with some caramel, nuts and cereal characeter. The classic Rogue Pacman yeast strain is present in both aroma and flavor. michael-pollack (2739), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 22, 2009 Bottle at Mike’s place: Hazy deep orange with a tan film. Fruity hop aroma- some peachy notes and a crystal malt background. Light fluffy body with a mild flavor that is dominated by a vegetal hop presence.Fairly nondescript with a grainy/worty body and a light resiny finish. A one dimensional and boring IPA. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 22, 2009 Draught at The Local Taphouse, Sydney. Pours murky amber with a creamy beige head. A pretty stunted nose but the flavour does let loose. Rich in caramel malt, pine hops and some herbs. It’s focused on the malt but the hops support nicely. A fair punch of bitterness throughout. Hoppy finish. An OK beer just too much ’sameness’ to many other IPA’s available.
