Numenor (816), Richmond, Alabama, USA Jun 12, 2008 2006 bottle -- A very pale yellow body, not nearly as honey colored as I’d expected. Aroma is a slightly alcoholic honey, with almost minimal spice. Taste is again, about right... but without the honey accent that I’ve come to expect. Ending is perfect, smooth with a nice sweet accent.
Beershine (1207), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 8, 2008 Clear pale gold, no effervescence. Cheerful aromas of honey and orchard fruits: grapes, pears, plums. White sangria and sweet Riesling. Thick, viscous mouthfeel. A lot like an ice wine. Unfortunately one-dimensional. Falls flat being insanely sweet and lacking depth or complexity. Honey sweetness is pleasant but flavors are short-lived. Oakes (6823), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 26, 2008 Very pale yellow colour. Honeyish nose hints at stickiness, light florals. Very sweet palate, soft and approachable, with basic honey flavours. The finish is still thick and sugary, despite a splash of alcohol.. Could stand to be a bit drier. BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Jun 4, 2008 This is not the worst mead that I ahev had, but it kind of disappointing compared to the ones I have had here in Alaska. Tastes massely produced, not fresh and clean, somewhat musty and stale, quite dry on the palate. Typical mead aromas, honey and cinnamon, oaky woody notes on the palate that remind me this is made by a winery and not a meadery. Blah blackmurder (164), sadf, Hawaii, USA May 5, 2008 This is a pretty good deal for the price. You get two meads for one. It comes with two teabags filled with spices that you can add to your mead and steep like tea. A great winter warmer!
SInce this is a mead, the appearance is pretty standard. Yup, it looks like mead. The flavor is a bit off and needs aging but you can do this yourself. So far this is my favorite of the cheaper meads.
