Commercial Description:
A combination of CHAUCER'S Mead and Raspberry Wine, reminiscent of Melomel, a whole new world of mead appreciation has opened up. Raspberries explode from the glass with the heady aromas of spice and orange blossoms carried into the background from the mead. Less sweet than our regular mead, this wine finishes with a lingering crisp raspberry and honeysuckle impression.

@Richmond/Williamsburg Gathering-500 ml bottle-pours no head and copper color. Aroma is bad fruit-tart apple. Taste is sugary fruit-tart apple/raspberry, medium malt. Taste is better than the aroma. Thanks Immy for the rating.

Richmond Summer Gathering. Scored during a wootoff, so it MUST be good, right? Nope.Clear reddish pinkish something. Flat as a board. Overdone raspberry nose, something plastic. Actually turned out to be fairly drinkable, but a pretty crappy mead overall.

Bottle shared by Immy at the 2008 Richmond Summer Gathering in Williamsburg. Thanks Tim! Clear pink-ish color. Pretty atrocious aroma of raspberry and plastic. Taste is a great improvement over the aroma with pleasant raspberry and honey notes. Full bodied.

500ml bottle, Thanks to Immy I think at Richmond Summer Gathering @ Williamsburg. Pours clear reddish in color with no head at all. Aroma of raspberry and sweet. Taste like cough syrupy and light raspberry with dry finish.

The aroma is tart and vinous with raspberries honey and yeast. The appearance is pink and still. The flavor is like the aroma with a high alcohol (it’s got legs). The palate is thin. Overall it’s not that good.

Not bad but not great either. Pretty light pink in color. I can’t really smell ANYTHING. Tastes like a crispy raspberry wine instead of a mead. Thin on the palate. Overall... "meh"

Weak in the area of aroma. There is no head, which I have come to expect from meads. The flavor is a very robust sticky sweet raspberry expereince. I have not had fruit meads before, but the flavor was much more pungent and unpleasant then straigh mead.
