On tap at the Blind Tiger’s VSK3 event. Pours a clear ruby color with a thin white head. Bourbon and vanilla, light caramel and malt. Mostly bourbon and caramel candies. Sweet, but not overdone. Rather interesting.

Some bourbon, vanilla and oak. Other sweetness from brown sugar or honey. A little buttery and a bit odd but not bad. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA

I was about 8 blocks away for a birthday partt and figured I would walk over not knowing it was a Chelsea event. Poured a hazy amber with a good sized off-white head. The aroma is sweet and malty with light fruit and vanilla. The flavor is sweeter with brown sugar, vanilla and a little wood. Tingles the tongue with a prickly CO2. Warming alcohol but hidden on the tastw. Better than the plain imp mild. Maybe its the age or the barrel. Medium to full body. Rciesla (3750), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 13, 2008 Tap at Barcade: Nice glowing amber pour with a dense off-white ring for head. Sweet boozy aroma with apparent honey, vanilla and very mild oak. Slick body, with mild buttery notes in the flavor. Lots of vanilla sweetness comes through, giving it a rum-like character, only letting a touch of the oak peek it’s head through. Too sweet in my opinion. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 10, 2008 Cask at Barcade. Pale orange-gold beer with a creamy white head. Aroma is fairly sweet and honeyish... chewy with light orange peel and a sticky/underattenuated character. Sort of sweet mead-like. There is just the barest kiss of vanilla and oaky flavour along with a slight caramel and toffee sweetness. I’d say that it is significantly improved by the time in the barrel, but not to the point of being good... you can’t make a silk purse out of a pigs ear.
