Pours a foggy yellow with a big head that’s actually sticking around - definitely looks appealing. Smells like wheat beer with lots of coriander and hops. Turns out it is wheat beer (I can’t read cyrillic) - good balance here with grains just showing slightly through the hops, and an okay mouthfeel. It’s a pretty good one and a surprise to find out here in Kiev.

Bottle. Pale haze like pineapple juice with lemonade; streams of fizz holding up a slim white collar, a few black flecks of sediment bobbing about. Lemon barley squash, slight manure and pepper aroma. Slippery and effervescent; lemon sherbet dissolved in homemade lemonade, woodsy spice, coriander, cream, slight rubber and bubblegum. Ends up a touch dryish (for style) with a lemon puff aftertaste. Lacks the roundedness and full-on fruit of a hefe: more kristall or medium spicy wit. Soothing and uncomplicated refreshment, unashamedly chilled and seen off with some relish after too much shouting at The Boro.

Bottle. Pours a very hazy golden color, with a nice thick off-white head. Aroma is of a spicy, lemony wheat beer. Flavor has lots of coriander, lemon and other citrus, some vanilla, some banana (but less than most wheats). A bit malty and not too sweet. A nice, refreshing beer but perhaps a bit too heavy on the coriander. Frankly, I’m surprised to find a witbier this good in Ukraine.

500ml Bottle - Pale golden with a haze and a white head. Spicy aroma with hints of citrus and banana. The taste is sweet and slightly spicy with notes of lemon and banana. Quite thin, but very refreshing.

500ml bottle bought for a very cheap price at a kiosk by the riverside in Kiev. Huge and noisy nitro foam, very quickly diminishing to a thin, white layer. Slightly, unclear golden-yellow. Mild aroma of fresh citric fruits added by a ditto mild touch of spices. Taste of wheat sustained by sweet fruits, but rather weak in the finish. Crisp and dry in the mouth. Refreshing after a long day of travelling (Kiev, 07.07.2009).
