Goldorak (424), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Apr 9, 2006 A darker shade of cranberry amber, with a compact yet thin ring of lace.
Very floral, the hops almost seem sugar coated. It slowly morphed into a more spicy, herbal infusion as it warmed a bit more.
Caramel and cotton candy, with one of those maple flavored cones on the side. A tangy hop bitterness that is quite poignant but that still doesn’t disturb the overall balance of the brew. The malt, carbonation and hop finish all work together to make this a solid APA in a very under-represented region. I came really close to ordering another pint right away!
