clear dark golden with tiny bubbles, thin fine white head, sweet spicy aroma, nice body, rich malt flavor, light spicy character balancing the malty sweetness, hint of alcohol, spices pick up as it warms but remains well balaced to the sweet esters, a dangerously deceptive beer, a bargain at $1.50 happy hour prices,

Oct 6, 2005 Clear dulled gold, barely touched by a white ring. Rather fluffy nose offers good phenolic and estery yeast work, procuring full cloves and banana flavours, on a medicinal mango and pineapple fruitiness. At the same time, the malts are quite perfumey, candyish and caramelly. The result is inviting, juicy and spicy. A little excess on the coriander and bubble gummy flavours unfortunately keeps it from being an all-around champion in mouth, as the yeast adds its little tart touch. Medium bodied, sweet, creamy and sticky mouthfeel.

Dec 18, 2004 Golden and silky smooth. The 10% alcohol is evident to be sure, but this is a tasty one. I’m not a big fan of Belgians, but this is good.

Oct 28, 2004 Mostly clear and golden. Smooth, weighty and full-bodied mouthfeel. Sharp alcohol nip in the middle. Sweet Belgian candi surfaced toward the finish. Some hot fusel notes throughout. Hints of flowers and spices here and there, but alcohol really took the stage.
