Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA Nov 28, 2008 Reddish pink color with a small, quickly diminishing white head. Very bright, fruity raspberry aroma that’s vibrant, but besides that, the nose doesn’t have much depth. Flavor shows some strength, but doesn’t have much depth besides the raspberry sweetness. Pretty nice strong ale. scottmc (167), Lakewood, Colorado, USA Oct 19, 2007 GABF. The best word would be Overboard. The taste was a fruity raspberry taste and then the alcohol crept over my tongue. Very sweet start and alcohol finish. Overboard. BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Oct 15, 2007 GABF ’07. Pours clear yellow with an average, frothy, off-white, lasting head, good lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread, hay, straw), average hops (citrus), average yeast (earth) with notes of raspberries. Light bodied, thin texture, average carbonation and a chalky finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jan 3, 2007 Smells faintly of raspberries, but no molasses in the aroma at all. This doesn’t seem much like a barleywine. Fairly sweet, but not too much raspberry at first (though it is definitely the dominant character), it almost seems like a malt liqour at time in its consistency. On the verge of being great. Definitely cannot recognize as being 14%.
