Chicago Old Town Brown

Enjoyed at the 4 Queens brewpub. A dark brown beer with a tan head. Caramel and nuts in the aroma. Lots of malt in the flavor and just a bit of earthiness. Served very cold. Quite sweet to the point that anything interesting was hdden.

Pours a dark reddish brown with thin tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and some caramel sweetness. The flavor is bread and sticky sweet caramel malt. Sticky mouthfeel yet strangely carbonated..

pours a red shade of clear reddish brown with a frothy off white head. harsh nose has a bit of nail polish remover...ick, mixed with toasted nuts, lightly roasted malt and caramel. the flavor is mostly toasty grain mixed with flowers, some cooked orange and raw turbinado sugar with a raw alcoholic finish. yeasty aftertaste with more warming booze...weird. thin to medium bodied with a rather sharp mouth feel. 5/3/5/3/10/2.6

Sampler @ 4 Queens, Vegas. pours copper, white head. Aroma/taste, roasted malts, with some herbal hops. Overall the hops seem to keep the upperhand, though there seems to be a sweet - honey - like finish.

on tap-pours an off white head and mahogany color. Aroma is roasty medium malt. Taste is medium malt-caramel, some earthy hops.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark amber-brown color with a medium thin and creamy light beige head that diminishes quickly. Thin sheet of lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet malt and nuts. Light body with vaguely sweet malt, nut and light hops flavor. The finish is sweet chocolate malt that does not linger very long. Barely average overall.

(Sampler @ 4 Queens, Las Vegas, NV): Brown color, small off-white head. Malty aroma. Fruity malty taste Fizzy. Good.
