nice clear copper color with a whispy white head, sweet grapefruit aroma, lots of good hop flavor with just enough sweetness to keep it honest, grapefruit shows up late followed by a lingering bitter finish

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 24, 2003 Great consistent pale ale. A generous white head complements the copper body, just as the citrusy nose complements its fruity overtones. Good use of hops as well (not too much). Suttree (2732), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Nice hop flavor, too - Kind of rough, fresh resiny hops. Decent smoky malt in the background. Remains nicely hopped to the finish. VTHopHead (924), Barre, Vermont, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 24, 2005 Sampler at the Four Queens Casino Brewpub - Also called "Pale Rider" at the Brewpub. Poured a orangish-amber in color wth a whitish head. Aroma was heavy of citrus-pine hops with a hint of malty sweetness. Flavor was pretty hoppy... citrus-pine and cascade grassiness too... the way I like it. Very good. JFGrind (1353), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
